Two thirds of what we quote in this borough is terraced or semi detached stock from between 1890 and 1975. Valley terraces sit exposed on hillsides with wind driven rain hitting one elevation far harder than the others, so drained and vented frames and upgraded gaskets are the standard spec rather than an upsell. The post-war estates around Penyrheol, Graig-y-Rhacca and Lansbury Park have standard openings and original or first-generation glazing, where A rated full house replacements make the biggest difference to a heating bill. Newer development around Trethomas and Ystrad Mynach is performance and colour led instead.
